On October 22, 2025, Pope Leo XIV received Ambassador Przemysław Häuser-Schöneich, First Secretary Giovanni Bariviera, and Second Secretary Jakub Potrzebowski, along with their families, in audience. The diplomats were accompanied by Bishop Robert A. Llanos of the Diocese of Saint John’s Basseterre and Fr. Lawrence Malama.
The Pope blessed the cornerstone for the Shrine of St. John Paul II in Antigua and Barbuda. The project to build the shrine is being carried out and financed by the SMOM Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda.
The Holy Father expressed his great joy at the construction of the shrine and conveyed his words of support and blessing to all those involved in the project.
