Volunteer doctors working with the Order of Malta’s Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda visit the homes of the elderly, the sick, and those in need. Most of these people do not leave their homes and cannot afford medical care. Volunteer doctors visit those in need in their homes and conduct basic medical examinations. They prescribe necessary medications, which are purchased at the expense of the Order of Malta’s embassy.
For most of these people, the assistance provided by the Order of Malta’s volunteer doctors is their only access to medical care.
In addition, the volunteers provide warm, high-calorie meals to those in need.
